the team at CamHam.
Fast and friendly
We don’t reckon anyone reading this will argue if we say it’s great to get outside from time to time. Yes, the weather in Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire – not to mention the whole country, actually – is unpredictable. But that just means that planning can be a bit fraught. And the focus of this article isn’t regarding an activity that needs to be planned anyway. No. Because what we’re actually suggesting is that it’s more than just a little beneficial to your business if you encourage your staff to eat their lunch outside, seated on some fabulous outdoor furniture, when they can.
And here’s why…
You want your employees to be healthy and productive, don’t you? Well, it’s been shown – and we’ve chatted about this in a previous article about outside meetings – that taking time out of the office isn’t just desirable, it’s necessary. What an employer needs to do, therefore, is give them somewhere to sit… (Have a look at our fabulous outdoor furniture whilst you’re thinking about it…!).
But moving on… So what’s so great about eating lunch outside?
It reduces stress
First off, taking a break from your desk and getting outside reduces your stress levels significantly. Getting some natural light onto your skin will also see a rise in your Vitamin D levels. But if that’s not reason enough, just think about this… If you have ever caught yourself needing to recharge your batteries during a heavy day, the chances are some of your employees have felt that way at times too. Studies have shown that employees who take time away from the phone and their to-do list at lunch time come back ready to deal with the pressures of work again, revitalised and replenished.
It gets you sitting in a different position
You’ll already know that we’re big fans of ergonomically designed chairs. However, even we admit that you still shouldn’t sit in one ALL day! It’s not good for you. Shifting posture by sitting on some well-designed outdoor furniture for an hour can make a change as good as a rest!
Gives your brain a breather
One can only focus for so long before brain fatigue sets in. Sometimes, just taking a decent lunch break and getting outside is enough to freshen the old grey matter and give it the boost it needs.
It can be social
Picture a little outside area with a couple of picnic tables. And now picture your employees heading out there with their pack lunches and sitting, eating and laughing. It looks like a great team building and bonding opportunity, doesn’t it? And, let’s face it, they’re probably sharing and discussing business issues anyway. That’s win win in our book!
So what sort of outdoor furniture can CamHam offer you?
We reckon the key to successful office picnicking is casual yet robust outdoor furniture. Our selection of picnic tables tick that box perfectly, with their rigid frames and outdoor finishes. The wood is planed, smoothed and rounded, so your staff will stay splinter free. What could be better?
If you’d like to find out more about our outdoor furniture range, then please do ask away. We deliver to locations in Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire regularly, and often far beyond. So let us help you put a smile on your employees’ faces at lunchtime.
