Fantastic personal service –
nothing is a problem for
the team at CamHam.
Fast and friendly
How can those three things come together? We hear you ask. Well, you know what we’re like, here at CamHam Office Furniture. We keep an eye on what’s going on. And the chit chat that takes place on social media is one of our favourite ways of doing that. Take Facebook and Twitter, for example, what better way is there for us find out how we can continue to support our customers? By keeping in touch, we can offer advice and promote other businesses, whilst all the time staying up to date with Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire news.
But what’s that got to do with charities and office chairs?
That’s a fair question. But if we told you that when someone pointed out recently that Barnardo’s in Corby had put a call out on Facebook for an office chair, it won’t surprise you that it caught our eye. The poor manager there – Luke Durrant – has apparently been toiling through his good work each day… seated on a stool.
Well, we couldn’t let that pass unnoticed. We needed to find out more. So we turned our attention to learning about the amazing work Barnardo’s does.
So… who are Barndardo’s? What do they do?
We quickly learnt that Barnardo’s is a fabulous children’s charity that works with particularly vulnerable children across the UK. They run over 960 vital services, including counselling for children who have been abused, fostering and adoption services, vocational training and disability inclusion groups.
They’re keen to highlight that, though every Barnardo's service is different, there is a common thread that runs across them all. Namely they believe potential exists in every young person that can be developed into something special. No matter how old they are, who they are, what they have done or what they have been through, they still can flourish and lead fulfilling lives.
That resonates with us at CamHam Office Furniture. Vulnerable people need support, and vulnerable children even more so. And now we’d found a small way in which we could help…
From a chatty post came an office chair
Stools have their place. We know that. At the breakfast bar, in a pub, or at an airport, stools are great. But they’re not designed for you to sit and work at a computer all day. Therein lies the path to a sore back, and we have not just one blog, but two that discuss this problem. And if Luke Durrant has to take time off because of a bad back, that’s not going to help the vulnerable children of Northamptonshire get the support they need. There was only one thing for it…
Luke Durrant, meet your new office chair. Office chair, meet Luke Durrant.
And we’d like to thank the power of social media for enabling us to support Barnardo’s in the best way we can… by donating a well-designed, well-made piece of office furniture.
